Welcome to the Jobs Promising Practice Report page!
The Network has prepared “Promising Practices in Preparing, Hiring and Sustaining High-Risk Youth in Employment” for everyone who wants to help youth at high risk to enter and retain employment and to move up a meaningful career path. Youth tell us that one of their most important needs is a good job.
The report is not intended to be an exclusive or comprehensive listing of agencies, employers and unions that work with youth, nor a final word on program quality in the city. It does, however, demonstrate what kinds of programs are successful at preparing youth at high risk to get and keep jobs, and what kinds of employers and unions are successful at employing them.
We hope that by sharing this information, more programs will be able to use and develop these practices, more employers will be able to hire and promote youth, and more unions will help train and support youth successfully. We also hope that, by showcasing what is working well, more support will be given to help youth make the important transition to gainful employment. We wish providers, employers, and youth the best!
